Berdyaev indeed had Ukrainian roots, but he is rarely mentioned or discussed in Ukraine today. There were commemorative plaques in his honor in Kyiv and Zhytomyr, but I haven’t seen any discussion about their removal. His older brother Serhiy Berdyaev, by the way, was writing both in Ukrainian and Russian.
